 About Us

Eye to Eye was registered as a charity in 1995; the organisation is managed by a board of trustees and has both voluntary and paid counsellors.

Our charity is based at Beddau Community Education Centre, in the grounds of Bryncelynnog Comprehensive School, Beddau Pontypridd. Young people who wish to speak to a counsellor can choose to be seen here or at one of our other bases in Rhondda Cynon Taff (Our Centres)

Eye to Eye delivers counselling free of charge to young people aged 11 - 25 years in Rhondda Cynon Taff.

Our Counsellors

Eye to Eye has around 24 counsellors, some of whom work in schools and others in our centres. Our counsellors are either fully qualified/experienced to Post Graduate Level or are in supervised training to gain this level.

All our counsellors have lots of experience in working with young people and are able to help with a huge range of problems. Because we have been working as a professional counselling organisation for so long, we are able to access all sorts of advice and information on your behalf.

How we are Supported and Funded

Our counselling service is helped and funded in a number of ways.
Our main supporter is the Rhondda Cynon Taff Youth Service. Through the generosity of the service we are provided with office space and counselling rooms at Beddau. The service also funds the Charity Coordinator and Part Time Administrative Support.

We also receive support for counselling from;

The Welsh Assembly Government,
Eye to Eye has recently received funding to develop and enhance its school counselling service in RCT.

New Horizons Mental Health Resources Centre, in Aberdare.
Here we are given the use of counselling rooms, so that young people in the Cynon Valley do not have to travel too far to see our counsellors.

The Porth Plaza, Porth and the Continuing Education Centre in Ton Pentre.
Because of this support from Rhondda Cynon Taff Council and Prince's Trust we are able to offer young people in the Rhondda access to counselling services both in the upper and lower part of the valley.
